A PAWSITIVE Reading Experience for Kids!

Calling all young readers! The Oshkosh Public Library is once again inviting young children in grades 4K-5 to spend time reading to registered therapy dogs. The opportunity is part of the library's READ to a Dog Program (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) which takes place on Mondays from 4 - 5:15 p.m. beginning February 3 through April 27.

Families may reserve a 15-minute session by calling the Children's Desk at 920.236.5208.

Reading aloud to a trained reading dog is a great way for children to practice their skills in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment. The dogs are eager to hear some good stories and non-fiction!

Upcoming 5-Week Parenting Session

The Oshkosh Area School District is inviting parents/guardians to participate in a practical and entertaining five-week parenting program, beginning Feb. 21, from 5-7 p.m. at South Park Middle School. This program is open to anyone who works with children or has children of their own. Participants have the opportunity to meet with other parents/guardians/educators and discuss and practice a new strategy each week.

  • Do you want to feel more confident as a parent?
  • Would you like to have more fun parenting?
  • Do you want to feel more relaxed at the end of the day?
  • Are you interested in learning practical parenting skills that you can use immediately?

This program is for you - all for only $10 which covers the cost of the manual. Pre-registration via email is required. Click on the flyer link below for more information.

Reminders from the Office

Absence Call:  All students that will not be attending school for the day must be called in to the school office each day they are absent, unless you have communicated otherwise with the office staff.  If you leave a voicemail message, be sure to include the student's name, teacher's name and reason for the absence (if ill, please let us know the symptoms as we are required by Winnebago County to keep track of all illnesses).

Students Arriving Late to School: If your student arrives in the building after  7:55 a.m., they must stop at the office to check in before going to class. Additionally, you need to call and excuse them for being late, or they will be marked unexcused.

Morning Drop-Off: Students may be dropped off before school starts at 7:30 a.m. Students do not have recess before school starts, so they should stand on a dot. Students are allowed to enter the building at 7:35 a.m.

After-School Pick-Up: School releases promptly at 2:45 p.m. For the safety of all students, please make sure you are on time to pick up your child.  If you are unable to arrive at 2:45 p.m., you should make alternate arrangements for your child's pick-up.  Please make sure you keep a consistent routine and that your child knows where to meet you.
